Description:
Acrylic Texture on board 10¨ tall x 8¨ wide (not including frame) – $285 for both
I acquired these ornament frames a looooong time ago, and no they were not orange. They were your typical standard gold ornament frames. Since my art is anything but “typical standard” the gold had to go. I painted them orange and stared at them for about a year and a half. I guess I was thinking that if I stared at them long enough, an idea would pop into my head on what to create that could possibly fill these frames.
I was watching a story on “Animal Planet” about group of people raising awareness to protect a coral reef. I was struck by the contrast of the orange corals against the blue water. Then I thought how my orange frames reminded me of the corals. I broke out the blue paint and gathered some scrap material and “Coral Reef” was born.
